Yosemite

California’s facade is always fresh, but it’s actually older than it seems. After the threat of mining, logging, and oil drilling during the 19-century, this sunny state was revitalized by pioneering environmentalists who cleaned the beaches, reclaimed rivers, and rescued old-growth trees.

You’ll notice California’s wealth of natural wonders once you visit, and they’re delightfully well-maintained. But more than just its sprawling national parks, well-groomed coastlines, and fantastic warm weather, visitors will find more to explore.

Our travel guide includes guides on different kinds of California adventures you can explore. This includes a free travel guide to Yosemite National Park, Mendocino National Forest, Redwood National Park, Palm Springs, and other adventures.

Great food in California

What would America’s menu be like without California on the map? Probably boring and predictable.  The Golden State is responsible for producing most of the USA’s fresh produce and generates over 90% of the nation’s wine-making grapes.

When Californians cook, trends kick off, and the nation watches and learns from the sidelines. When you are dining in California, you will surely be able to task the difference in the fresh produce and attention to detail in cuisine.

To make it more interesting, California’s Napa Valley is a region that was named “Wine Country” for the reason it produces the finest wines, cuisines, and dining options in America. There are a number of activities in California’s vast wine regions including wine tasting, shopping, and hot air balloon rides.

From north to south, California is a large and diverse state with plenty of things to see and do. If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few suggested itineraries to get you started.

If you’re looking for a coastal road trip, Highway 1 is a great option. Be sure to stop in some of the picturesque towns and villages that dot the coastline, such as Monterey, Big Sur, and Santa Barbara.

Once you’re on Highway 1, it’s also a good idea to drive through the Golden Gate Bridge and check out San Francisco. This is an excellent option for your next California road trip. If your road trip takes you to Big Sur, be sure to stop in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Carmel-by-the-sea.
