What is Seven Corners Travel Insurance?

Seven Corners Review

Seven Corners is an insurance program with individually designed plans for students, missionaries, and senior citizens. Founded in 1993, the company has one of the industry’s best medical and travel expense plans.

Besides that, Seven Corners is known for its innovative plans in the medical insurance section for travelers. Its plans cover medical complications and treatment costs like no other insurance company. Similarly, its trip insurance package has carefully curated plans for all kinds of travelers, so you can easily find one that fits your needs.

How Seven Corners Travel Insurance Works

Seven Corners Travel Insurance Review

Seven Corner Travel Insurance works by creating tailor-made solutions for different travelers to deal with travel accidents and mishaps.

For example, a traveler moving across the world as a missionary might have different needs than a business traveler. The company caters to this niche by creating unique packages and insurance options to make your trips safe and smooth.

Additionally, they have exceptional plans for short and long-term trips and customized options for US citizens and recent immigrants. Does choosing a perfect travel insurance plan sound exciting to you? I’ve covered all the necessary details about Seven Corners in this section for you to check out and understand the platform better.

If you’ve been through other seven corners travel insurance reviews, you probably know that insurance companies require some documents and personal information when you sign-up.

When you apply for Seven Corners Travel Insurance, you must enter your full name and contact details. Along with that, the platform also requires your employment information and your age.

Furthermore, the platform will ask for your social security number and passport like other travel insurance plans. That’s why I recommend you only sign-up for an insurance company you trust to avoid jeopardizing your sensitive information.

What Does Seven Corners Travel Insurance Offer?

Seven Corners has a list of unique and innovative offers for travelers, which you probably won’t find with any other travel insurance company. Firstly, the company provides 100% expense reimbursement if your trip gets canceled or interrupted. This way, you can plan your trip concern-free.

Secondly, Travel Corners covers your medical expenses in case you get sick or face an accident overseas. The amount you receive, in this case, depends on the nature and treatment costs of your injury or illness. For instance, the company has a fixed $750 coverage for emergency dental treatments.

Thirdly, they give you up to $500 coverage in case of baggage accidents and mishaps. If you lose your baggage, you’ll receive the full $500 limit. Nonetheless, if it gets delayed and you receive it later, you’ll still get $100 for your trip interruption.

Lastly, their Choice and Elite plans cover pre-existing medical conditions, non-refundable trip expenses, and total trip costs.

Insurance Coverage

Every insurance company you go for will have its insurance coverage list mentioned on its website. This helps visitors determine what they’re paying for in the long run.

Seven Corners Insurance plans

Seven Corners covers lots of aspects of your foreign trips through their highly comprehensive plans. First, their travel medical plan covers your medical expenses, including pre-existing ailments, sudden illness, and accidents. These are divided into three medical liaison plans, International, Continent, and Majestic.

Second comes the trip protection plans. You can go for these plans if you don’t need to worry about your health while traveling. They help protect your trip costs and travel baggage while stepping outside your home country. You can schedule your travels without worrying about cancellation or delay fees.

The Seven Corners company has three trip protection plans: Roundtrip Economy, RoundTrip Choice, and RoundTrip Elite. Similarly, the company offers insurance plans for personal security as well. This ensures you stay safe during your trip and get compensation if you don’t. It protects against a variety of security hazards, including kidnapping, theft, and other travel emergencies.

As we mentioned, Seven Corners has a tailor-made insurance plan for immigrants who aren’t US citizens. Besides that, their student plans will cover your medical and security expenses if you’re studying abroad.

Most importantly, their Adventure Sports package will cover your treatment expenses if you get hurt. So you can experience any sport without worrying about the repercussions.

Exemptions

Now that you have an insight into what Seven Corners Travel Insurance will cover for you, it’s time to find out what isn’t included in any of their packages.

Some Pre-Existing Conditions

In the case of pre-existing conditions, the company has highlighted a few ailments covered in its insurance plans.

Seven Corners Conditions

If you face any illnesses besides those listed, you won’t qualify for their pre-existing conditions waiver.

Another point you should consider in this case is that they only pay for conditions that are likely to flare up suddenly. If an issue is already expected, your insurance plan will not cover its treatment costs when you’re abroad.

Furthermore, the medical issue should be at least 12 months old to qualify as a pre-existing condition. This time limit is called the look-back period. If you want to travel to the US, the look-back period increases to 36 months. If you need insurance and have a medical condition, check out the best travel insurance plans for pre-existing conditions.

Claims Placed Outside the 90-Day Threshold

If this Seven Corners Travel Insurance review enticed you to get a travel insurance plan for yourself before you plan your trip, you should do it as soon as possible. That’s because claims filed within less than 90 days of the travel date are exempted from insurance coverage.

Even if you make your claim today, plan your vacation after 90 days to become eligible for your chosen plan.

Dangerous Activities

Although Seven Corners has a separate insurance plan for travelers indulging in adventure sports, they exempt certain activities from coverage.

The company covers any accidents or injuries you face while bungee jumping or jet skiing but not while mountaineering. They don’t state their reasons for exempting certain activities, so you might want to look into the fine print before you sign-up for their adventure sports plan. Similarly, they won’t cover your adventure sports injuries if you don’t buy their special Adventure Sports plan.

Accidents and Security Hazards Caused by Your Misbehavior

The company won’t cover your loss if you get injured or face a loss while going against your destination’s government warnings.

Similarly, if your home country advises against visiting your destination and you do it anyway, Seven Corners will not cover your trip losses or medical issues.

Pricing

All the plans from Seven Corners Insurance have different prices according to their level of protection.

Insurance for Travel

Their website provides an extensive description of all price ranges, but I’ve listed the prices for each plan for a typical US-based family of four.

Seven Corners Medical Plans

The platform has three medical liaison plans. If you’re taking your family on a three-week trip, the Liaison Travel Economy plan will cost you $78.

If you want your protection plan to cover your costs extensively, opt for the Liaison Travel Choice or Elite plan. These will cost you around $85 to $150, respectively.

These plans come with a $50,000 maximum limit for medical needs, excluding the injuries incurred through hazardous activities.

Trip Insurance Plans

Similarly, if you want a trip insurance plan for your family in case your trip gets canceled or postponed, you’ll have to choose from their RoundTrip plans.

Their RoundTrip Economy plan will cost you $250, while the RoundTrip Choice and RounTrip Elite plans are worth $335 and $415, respectively. Roughly, these expenses will cover around $25,00 travel expenses for each adult and about $2000 for a child.

You might have noticed, but because trip cancellation is more expensive, the medical plans sound more affordable than the trip protection plans.

Frequent Traveler Plans

Frequent Traveler Plus Plan
Seven Corners / Seven Corners

The frequent traveler plans are the best options for families who travel abroad for vacations or to meet overseas family members. If you need this plan, you can choose from two categories, Plan A and Plan B.

If you take Plan A, all your 30-day trips will be covered within one year. Similarly, Plan B will cover all your trips within a year, but they can last up to 45 days.

Considering a typical family of four, the pricing for Plan A would be around $300 for a year’s coverage. On the other hand, for Plan B, the pricing would be $350 for a full year.

It’s a good deal considering its validity for a whole year. However, it will only be worth it if the family makes two to three trips before the year ends.

Filing Your Claim

Filing a claim in Seven Corners
Seven Corners / Seven Corners

This is perhaps the most crucial aspect of travel insurance. If you become subject to injuries or trip cancellation, how do you file your claim? The process is easy if you have an insurance plan from Seven Corners.

All you need to do is log into your online Seven Corners account using the information on your Seven Corners ID card. Once you log in, you will find a Proof of Loss Form on the portal.

Along with the form, you will need copies of some essential travel documents such as your passport, the concerned bills, receipts, and any other documents that support your insurance claim.

After gathering all these documents, you can submit your claim on the website. If you can’t upload the application, you can also mail or fax your documents.

Another great feature is that you can rethink and appeal to withdraw your claim if you’re unsure within 30 days. This way, you can carefully consider whether you need the insurance money for that particular incident.

  • There’s no deductible amount for trip insurance.
  • You can go for both single-trip or multiple-trip plans.

Cons of Seven Corners Travel Insurance

Although the benefits of Seven Corners Insurance seem quite appealing, there are also a few drawbacks.

  • Excludes specific destinations from coverage.
  • Residents of some US states are exempted from coverage.
  • Buying an annual medical plan for a single trip will not include trip cancellation coverage.

  • Pre-existing conditions have a long look-back period.

Seven Corners Travel Insurance Review – Is it Worth it?

At the end of this Seven Corners Travel Insurance review, it all brews down to the ultimate question, is the platform worth it or not?

If you’re looking for good medical coverage, their plans are affordable and offer reasonable coverage rates. Although the medical plans don’t include trip cancellation, you can play safe by going to hotels and airlines that offer refunds.

You can fully insure your trip this way. On the other hand, if you’re looking for trip insurance plans, I would say their plans in this regard are quite expensive. However, it would be best to consider that their trip plans include trip cancellation prices and medical coverage.

For example, their RoundTrip Choice plan is comprehensive and provides good coverage in all aspects, making it worth the high price.

Finally, the most beneficial plan from Seven Corners Insurance has to be their Wander Frequent Traveler Plan. It offers coverage for multiple trips for everyone in your group. However, you’ll still have to look for refundable hotels and airlines, as no trip cancellation coverage exists.
