Located in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is the best honeymoon destination for newlyweds. You can’t miss the aqua-blue water, white sandy beaches, and exclusively designed luxurious resorts.

The Maldives is one of the best diving destinations, providing spectacular opportunities. Most resorts offer this package, whether you want to experience turtles or rare whale sharks.

However, to dive in the most remote reefs, consider getting a live-aboard boat trip for the ultimate experience. The best time is between January to April. However, deep-diving begins as early as November and runs up to May.

While at it, consider going snorkeling. The Maldives has over a thousand coral islands, guaranteeing a top-notch experience. If you’re in the northern Male Atoll, the Angsana Ihuru, and Fihalhohi Island resorts offer the best experience.

There are also high chances of spotting dolphins from your overwater villa or boat as they hover around. Suppose your main intention is dolphin watching. Head over to Meemu Atoll, as there is a higher chance of seeing them. You could stay at the Hakuraa Huraa and Medhufushi Island Resorts while there.

Most resorts offer watersports such as jet skiing, waterskiing, and windsurfing. Several independent spot companies offer sporting activities exclusively.

If your honeymoon falls between March and October, you’ll be there during the surfing season, with higher waves between June and August. The Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi is the best. While the resorts have a number limit during the busy season, consider staying at the local guesthouses with equally affordable accommodations.

A sunset cruise during your honeymoon to top up your island experience would be perfect. Other fun things to do while in the Maldives include touring the capital city of Male, exploring Maldivian cuisine, going island hopping, and getting a couples’ massage at the Niyama Maldives.
