3. Alan Jackson’s Good Time Bar

Alan Jackson’s Good Time Bar is located in one of Broadway’s most historic buildings. Throughout the years, it’s served as a Civil War hospital, Nashville’s first used record shop, and a record label in its own right.
But the building’s current incarnation as the home of country star Alan Jackson’s three-story super-bar may be its most impressive yet. AJ’s Good Time Bar combines all the best of a karaoke bar, sports bar, and live music venue into three floors of boozy fun.

4. Acme Feed & Seed

Yep, you read that right, but rest assured that Acme Feed & Seed is no longer in the farm supply business. The historic building, which is located near the river on Lower Broadway, has since been transformed into a three-story bar, restaurant, and entertainment venue.
On the first floor, you’ll find a restaurant with communal-style dining tables and 28 craft beers on tap. There’s also a stage where you can take in live music from local musicians and a small store where you can buy local artisan goods.
The second floor has cocktails, vintage games, a sushi bar, and a lounge area where you can relax and watch your favorite game. Last but not least, the third floor has been transformed into a huge event venue that is available for concerts or private events.

5. Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk and Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse

When it comes to the best celebrity-owned bars in Nashville, Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk and Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse doesn’t mess around. Located at Broadway and 3rd, Kid Rock’s is a five-floor, six-bar extravaganza.

Complete with delightfully dive-worthy decor, Legends manages to rock a small-town bar feel right in the middle of one of country music’s hottest scenes. Along the walls, you’ll find classic country records, including five Elvis 78 RPMs from Sun records.

7. Hidden Bar

As you may have guessed from the tell-tale name, Hidden Bar is just that – a discreet watering hole tucked away beneath Printers Alley. Located in Downtown Nashville’s Hotel Noelle, this cozy little bar offers an intimate gathering spot with a relaxed atmosphere.
Explore the beer and cocktail menu or order one of three signature drinks that comes complete with a sizzling sparkler. True to its name, Hidden Bar can be a bit tricky to find.
Head towards Church Street and enter through Makeready L&L, then proceed down the stairs to find the entrance. Just be aware that the bar is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays unless you happen to have a party of at least 25 and are down to book it for a private event.
8. Robert’s Western World

9. The Twelve Thirty Club

10. Tootsies Orchid Lounge

Ask almost any local about the best bars in Nashville and Tootsies Orchid Lounge will likely be on their list. Located across from Ryman Auditorium, the iconic Nashville bar rose to fame under proprietor Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess in the 1960s and 70s.
Counting the country stars like Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and Waylon Jennings among its earliest customers, Tootsies’ legacy reads like a who’s who of Nashville history. Throughout his time, Nudie made outfits for dozens of top stars, including Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and Gene Autry. 13. Bastion

Named for the title character in the 1980s classic Neverending Story, Bastion is a unique creative cocktail bar in the Wedgewood-Houston area. Located near Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, Bastion is an unpretentious little watering hole that’s a great choice if you’re looking for something off of the main drag.
Run by Strategic Hospitality, the same team that’s behind Patterson House, the bar features hip, warehouse-style decor and an intimate 24-seat restaurant. Unlike many other Nashville bars, Bastion is less “craft beer and country” and more “old records and hand-crafted cocktails.”
It’s a great place to hang out with friends as you enjoy a one-of-a-kind drink over a relaxing game of chess. Just a head’s up – while the restaurant has amazing food, it books up fast, so be sure to make reservations far in advance.
14. Pearl Diver

Pearl Diver is an East Nashville gem with plenty of retro island vibes. Inside the cocktail lounge, you’ll find comfy booths and barstools, while the outdoor patio offers plenty of tiki torch-lit seating.
Part of what makes the Pearl Diver such a fun place is that it almost makes you feel like you’re in another time and location altogether. The bar’s cocktails are known as some of the best in Nashville and offer exotic blends made with everything from chai vanilla infused light rum to Japanese whiskey.
The food menu features an equally thorough variety of options, like Hawaiian meatballs, Oaxaca bowls, tacos, and sandwiches. Whether you’re looking for a great bite to eat, a next-level cocktail, or a little bit of both, this is one Nashville hot spot that’s definitely worth checking out.

Rest assured you shouldn’t have any problems convincing everyone in your party to accompany you because Von Elrod’s also has a full selection of cocktails, mimosas, wines, and more. Non-drinkers will also find zero-proof options, as well as a full mouth-watering food menu.

16. Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar

Jason Aldean is yet another country star to prove that when it comes to bars, bigger can sometimes be better. Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar offers guests four levels of Nashville-infused food and entertainment.
On the main level, you’ll be greeted by a 1961 4020 John Deer tractor, a shout-out to Aldean’s hit song, Big Green Tractor. Take your pick of any of the building’s six bars or head upstairs to hang out on Broadway’s largest rooftop patio bar.
You’ll also find two floors that serve as live music venues, with lots of ice cold beer, and plenty of great food. Whether you’re in the mood for a hot chicken sandwich, pot roast, or peach cobbler, the kitchen’s menu features something for everyone.
17. Santa’s Pub
Address: 2225 Bransford Ave, Nashville, TN 37204
Santa’s Pub is more than just a bar, it’s a Nashville institution. It’s one of those places that could end up being one of your local favorites, but only if you understand exactly what you’re getting into.
Far from a mega-bar, Santa’s Pub resides in a double-wide trailer that’s decked out in fantastically shameless Christmas decor. The drink menu consists pretty much exclusively of cheap beers, while the entertainment revolves primarily around karaoke or the occasional live band on the weekends.
If you’re lucky, you may even get to meet the bar’s owner – a guy who actually does look a lot like Santa and has hence adopted the same name. Santa has become somewhat of a local legend, but just be sure to abide by his three rules if you decide to karaoke: “No beer, no cussin’, and no cigarettes on Santa’s stage.”

18. Springwater Supper Club & Lounge

The Springwater is not the biggest or flashiest bar in Nashville, but it does lay claim to being the oldest continuously operated bar in Tennessee. Tucked away at the edge of Nashville’s Centennial Park, the bar was first established in 1896 and kept low-key operating as a speakeasy during prohibition.
Once a hide-out for notorious gangsters such as Al Capone, Nashville’s favorite dive bar is now occasionally frequented by A-level rock stars who mingle with the local crowd. While the bar is still cash-only, it does offer some of the cheapest beers in town, as well as live music.
There are also plenty of great bar games to play, including darts, pool, and pinball. Come in to enjoy a cold drink at the city’s favorite dive and experience a piece of local history.
19. Attaboy
Address: 8 Mcferrin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
From the outside, Attaboy looks like a small, unassuming dive. But once you make it through the line and into the candlelit interior, this Nashville gem offers a whole other experience altogether.
Inspired by the NYC mixology bar of the same name, Attaboy is less a standard bar and more of an experience. Rather than bother with a menu, just tell one of the mixologists what kind of drinks you usually enjoy and they’ll mix you a customized cocktail.
Just be aware that, due its small size, it’s best to arrive at Attaboy either with a smaller party or prepared for a wait. But it is a great choice if you’re looking for a unique date spot or simply want to taste the customized drink of your dreams.
20. Skull’s Rainbow Room
Address: 222 Printers Alley, Nashville, TN 37201
If you missed your calling as a jazz musician or burlesque dancer, then Skull’s Rainbow Room is the spot for you. Established on Printers Alley in 1948, this high-end venue has hosted legendary greats like Etta James, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Check out live jazz every day and stick around to catch a world-class burlesque show every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 11 pm. Skull’s Rainbow Room is also known for its hand-crafted cocktails and award-winning dining menu.

21. Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, the delightfully bizarre animatronic band at Cross-Eyed Critters begs to differ. Located at the Graduate Hotel, Cross-Eyed Critters is a cross between a really nice cocktail lounge and a 21+ version of Chuck E. Cheese.
Enjoy a nice selection of beer, wine, and cocktails as you watch the fun unfold on the karaoke stage. Each time a singer appears to karaoke on the barn-themed stage, they’re treated with the talents of a unique backup band.
It consists of an animatronic bear, pig, and what appears to be a fox (or cow?) with a Dolly Parton hair-do. Make sure you also try your luck on the Dolly-themed pinball machine or enjoy tacos or burgers from the food menu.
22. Chopper

If you’re on the hunt for a truly unique experience, then look no further than Chopper. The interior of the East Nashville venue looks like what might happen if Dr. Who landed in a tiki bar in the year 3000.
Chopper’s decor is designed around a fun tale about a business magnate named Hiram Kneesch who was blown off course during a Pacific voyage. Finding himself on a mysterious ancient robot island called Island X, he documented his findings, went back to Nashville, and designed a bar around them.
Hey, we’ll take it. Plus, the place has a killer Mexican food menu and great drinks, including pretty much every type of rum known to man – or ancient robots.
23. Old Glory

When it comes to the coolest ambiance in Nashville, Old Glory may just take the cake. Located in an old boiler room, the building still features all of its old 1920s smoke stacks, electrical boxes, and a coal hopper.
In true speakeasy fashion, Old Glory doesn’t have a sign but can be identified by those in the know by the gold triangle painted over the door of the Edgehill Avenue entrance. Descend down the industrial staircase and take your pick of libations from one of the most comprehensive drink menus in Nashville.
